If you are a New Yorker and love shopping at TonyMoly in Koreatown, I heard they are looking to open a U.S. Flagship store somewhere else in Midtown. Don’t fret, as far as I know, the 32nd street location will remain open for the time being.
If you are downtown, a great place to grab your favorite products from this brand is the TonyMoly kiosk at Westfield Mall in the Oculus; the kiosk will be open until the end of the summer. Although the kiosk does not have the wide range of products found in stores, they supply a good variety and great price range. The other awesome thing is that with your purchase you get the usual mini samples as you do in the retail store. Personally, I like kiosks, they are great when you are in a hurry or just passing by and want to treat yourself, you work hard, and you deserve it!
My first purchase from this TonyMoly kiosk is egg pore Blackhead Steam Balm. It’s a treatment to rid your skin of blackheads over time. Like all TonyMoly products I love their packaging and this is an egg so once the product is finished I will recycle it as an Easter egg for next year :) too cute! You open the egg and find a green gel product, as soon as you put it on your skin (only need tiny amount), and rub it in, the gel turns to a white cream. The instructions say to massage the product for 3 to 5 minutes then rinse off. It was easy to rinse, I do have to say the first use I did not feel any steam effect but did notice some superficial pimples extracting from my skin. I have high hopes for the use of this over time ; a couple of weeks after...I noticed my pores seem slightly smaller either from the steam balm or because I’ve been drinking more H2O.
I then purchased Bamboo Cool Water Soothing Gel. This watery gel is a very light lotion, which you can use on your body and face. I really like it; it is lightweight and helps smooth out fine lines. But it’s not a specialized age cream and does not have any spf in it – always wear sunscreen. What I do not love about this product is the bottle, it literally looks like a stick of bamboo, which makes sense, but I’m thinking it won't be easy to squeeze out the last bit of product when nearing the end of the gel. We’ll see what happens….stay tuned :)
