STICK FROM TUMBLE LEAF

Stick Character

My daughter loves Tumble Leaf, I actually enjoy this Amazon show too, but I had a difficult time finding toys for sale. I found a picture on Pinterest of the character Stick and bought a bag of assorted pom-poms for about 0.79 cents. This is how I made Stick:

Supplies:

  • Pom-poms (yellow & orange)

Needle & Thread

  • Glue gun & eyes

Step 1:

Get orange and yellow pom-poms in assorted sizes if possible.

Step 2:

Thread a needle or embroidery thread if you have it; do a small knot at the largest yellow pom-pom. Once secure, pull the needle through the middle of the pom-pom. Watch your fingers :)

Step 3:

Take the largest orange pom-pom and put the needle through the center, pull the thread through to join the yellow and orange pom-poms.

Step 4:

Follow steps 2 & 3 alternating yellow and orange to make Stick’s body.

Step 5:

Eyes- If your child is older use a hot glue gun to add plastic eyes to Stick (follow package age recommendations). If you have a young child these eyes are choking hazards so sewing on some eyes using a french knot and some embroidery thread would work.

You can alternate Stick's pose by sewing the head at a different angle, he moves a lot in the cartoon and has different poses. If you’d like to go further and create a little ‘house’ for stick, a toilet paper or paper towel roll cut with holes works great and it can be left plain or be a fun project for your little one to paint with you, enjoy!
