Manga & Me

Call me obsessive but currently I cannot get enough of Noragami, it’s a manga about a ‘bum’ god with no followers except one and he does odd jobs for people as a way to stay in the minds of humans so he will not disappear. Yato was originally born as a god of calamity but goes through an identity crisis in this manga. There’s also a side love interest with the lead female character and a brother relationship with his friend and weapon Yukine who also has his own issues (there is a lot going on). I don’t want to reveal too much but if you like manga’s I’d definitely recommend this one!

I do have to say issues were temporarily halted, when I found this out I did some research because the other thing I love about this manga, apart from the excellent story line, is the artwork. The character drawings, especially their eyes and the varying emotional looks conveyed are beautiful. I’d love an original poster of their work to hang on my wall, that's how much I love this art.

Originally I assumed the artist name was Adachi Toka, to my surprise there are two artists and Adachitoka are their combined names. I thought that was cool, I don’t know much about the artists beyond that. I read online that one of the artists is currently recuperating from an illness so wishing that person all the best for a full recovery. We can all agree our health comes first and although I miss the manga, I am happy they work as a team and lending support to their colleague.

Here's an example of the art from the cover (hopefully I'm not violating copyright) the inside manga drawings are all black and white like usual.
