This project began because package wasn’t delivered so either they were stolen or the mailman can’t see our tiny address sign clearly enough. It is a tiny sign.
My husband and I made a claim to post office for our package but decided it’d be fun to make a new address sign out of screws and wood as I’ve seen on various Pinterest posts. Pinterest has become my addiction:) luv it.
We cut a piece of wood to the desired length then bought some wood stain and aluminum screws (hoping they won’t rust).
My husband printed some numbers off the computer but those with a steady hand feel free to draw free hand. After we stained the wood and let it dry a day or so, I drew the first number onto the wood then placed the screws inside and drilled. My husbands technique I liked better, and recommend you to try, he tapped the screws into the wood through the paper so each left an indentation in the wood. When he lifted the paper he knew where to drill because of the indentations, just seems more precise.
I’m not that handy yet with power tools so to prevent myself from drilling the screw through the board I marked the first few screws by measuring against the depth pf the board so I’d know when to stop drilling.
Voila! The complete sign is
near completion and we have some extra space toward the end so I may use mod podge or a stencil to add a picture or motif.
